As an organization, the Salvation Army participates in a variety of philanthropic practices to put their mission into practice. Some of these efforts include organizing and facilitating programs for adult rehabilitation, elderly services, veteran’s affairs services, combating sexual trafficking, helping with natural disaster relief and much more. Every donation of money, food, clothing, household goods and supplies goes directly to nearly 30 million Americans in need.
The Salvation Army has recently partnered with Allied Van Lines to continue their mission of assisting others more effective and effortless than ever. When families or companies are moving to a new location, Allied Van Lines can help collect, transport and drop off items to be donated at the appropriate locations.
By donating clothing, electronics, furniture, household goods, and vehicles to be sold in Salvation Army Family Stores, you help transform lives in your community. All proceeds are used to fund our Adult Rehabilitation Centers, where beneficiaries find help, hope, and a second chance at life through work therapy, education, counseling and spiritual development.
According to its mission statement, The Salvation Army is “an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.”
